Use the wrench to loosen the lug nuts in a star pattern. Do not remove the lug nuts entirely, as this may cause the vehicle to become unstable and inflict harm.

If your vehicle uses a lock wheel lug nut, use the lock wheel lug nut key to remove this. You may find this in a location relative to the spare tire tools in the trunk of your car.

If your car uses a lock wheel lug nut and you do not have access to the corresponding lock wheel lug nut key, call your mechanic for assistance.

Locate the metal ridge of your vehicle body frame closest to the tire being replaced. If you are having trouble, seek assistance from the car owner manual.

Slide the jack under the car and raise it until it sits comfortably underneath the ridge. Ensure that the base of the car jack is resting fully on the ground to avoid the jack from potentially giving out and dropping the car during the tire change.

Slowly, raise the vehicle with the car jack until the tire is completely off the ground by at least a few centimeters (~1cm to 3cm is sufficient).

If the car jack becomes unstable or begins to lean off of the ground, lower the vehicle and adjust the jack as needed. If necessary, insert a wooden block or some other sturdy material underneath the jack to stabilize it.
